Luminous Series No.1

A monotype is a one of a kind print.

I paint directly on a printing plate using oil-based printers ink to create my image, and that’s why the colors in monotypes are so vivid. Besides brushes, I use different tools, such as a sponge, stick, toothbrush, brayer, or anything else, to create texture and lines in the sticky ink. Next a piece of print paper is run through a press transferring all the ink from the plate to the paper, and you have an original print.   My inspiration can be from colors in the landscape or my mood and imagination. 

One of a kind original 24x18 monotype centered on 30x22 print paper using oil-based printers ink, created at Tamarind Institute, University of New Mexico. Signed and titled with Tamarind stamp on bottom of print. 

Artwork will be shipped rolled in tube, ready for floating in a frame or matted and framed.
